Permission To Be The Imperfect Mother

31 October 2008 61 views No Comment

There will be moments when you won’t say just the right thing to your preschooler.  You’ll be flustered or upset and yell or snap.  There will be days that the dinner will turn out gross, despite your extra effort to try a new recipe and buy all the yummy ingredients.  There will be the mornings when you’re late for every thing.  There will be weeks when you feel estranged from your spouse and the kids will cry, tantrum, and defy you.  There will be times when you feel like you’re not enough.

It’s called life and it’s called being human.  None of us are perfect.  It’s easy to visit blog sites where perfect pie pictures are shared and joyous moments of smiles and laughter are captured.  We can choose to share with the world our perfect moments.  Don’t be fooled or allow it to make you feel like your life is not good enough because of your own little cracks and crumbles.

Burned pies and tantruming toddlers don’t make pretty pictures.
